CUSTOM CLOSET FRAMES
This DIY closet door frame tutorial shows you how to transform builder-grade mirrored closet doors using plywood for a custom look. It’s an easy and budget-friendly way to add character, and completely upgrade plain sliding doors without replacing them.
This tutorial is perfect if you’re looking for:
•Budget-friendly closet door makeover ideas
•Ways to cover cracked or damaged mirror doors
•DIY upgrades for builder-grade homes
•Custom-looking projects without custom prices
•Beginner-friendly woodworking and home DIYs
Our home came with old mirrored closet doors that had a large crack in one corner, obviously I saw this as an excuse to rethink the entire space. I’ve always loved finding ways to update and transform things rather than replace them completely, especially when there’s still so much potential in what you already have.
What I love most about this project is that it doesn’t just “hide” a problem, it turns it into a feature. The doors went from basic builder-grade mirrors to something that feels far more elevated, cozy, and custom to our home.
This DIY is perfect if you want to make your home feel more high-end without a major renovation. It’s beginner-friendly, surprisingly impactful, and completely customizable depending on the style you love.
